Featured Research
The Research Showcase will feature two distinct forms of presentations: Lightning Talks and Research Posters.
Lightning Talks are short, three-minute videos designed to summarize and engage the viewer in the findings of a research project. The talk should contain information on the methodology of the project, key findings, and potential policy implications. Instructions for how to record and submit your Lightning Talk are available.
Research Posters –the old familiar. What would SCJA be without the poster session? Participants may display their research in the form of a poster in a 36×72 .PPT or .PDF format. Participants may be first author on only ONE poster. You are free to use your preferred template, but example templates can be found here.

Raffle tickets can be purchased for $5 dollars each at the time of registration. There is no limit on the number of tickets you may purchase. SCJA will match these donations up to $1,000. The drawing will take place on September 10th. Only Showcase attendees will be eligible to win the raffle.
About Feeding the Gulf Coast
As an essential service, Feeding the Gulf Coast is actively distributing food throughout the Central Gulf Coast to meet the increased demand due to challenges created by COVID-19. Feeding the Gulf Coast serves a variety of individuals, many in high-risk categories. More than ever, it is crucial that we meet the needs of those most vulnerable in our community. Feeding the Gulf Coast serves over 400 charitable organizations in south Mississippi, south Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. 1 in 6 people and 1 in 4 children along the Central Gulf Coast are food insecure. With your help Feeding the Gulf Coast distributes more than 20 million meals annually. The food bank can provide 5 meals for every $1 donated.
