The UAB J. Frank Barefield, Jr. Department of Criminal Justice invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position with a start date of August 15, 2024. We seek applicants with research and teaching emphases in race/ethnicity and crime. Areas of research specialization focused on race and/or ethnicity, broadly defined, could include (but are not limited to) racial/ethnic disparities in victimization, courts and corrections, policing, and public policy issues related to criminal justice. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline (with a substantive and demonstrable research focus in criminology and criminal justice) from an accredited institution.
